1590 nm Fiber Laser

The QTekLaser™ 1590 nm Fiber Laser is a single-frequency, polarization-maintaining system delivering up to 10 W CW over the 1580–1600 nm range. Its 3U 19" rack-mount, all-fiber, SBS-free design features narrow linewidth, excellent beam quality, high polarization extinction, low thermal lensing, and <1% power stability. Controlled via IoT/TCP with safety interlocks and IEC 60825-1:2014 compliance, ideal for quantum computing, sensing, interferometry, and precision research.

Single Frequency

QTekLaser amplifiers work with various kinds of seed lasers. They can be economic semiconductor diode lasers with MHz laser linewidth, robust fiber lasers with kHz linewidth, or cavity-locked ultra-stable lasers with Hz linewidth. Based on customer requirements, we can recommend the best options and integrate them into the laser system as illustrated in figure 1.

QTekLaser lasers comply with Federal Regulations (21 CFR Subchapter J, Part 1040)  as administered by the Center for Devices and Radiological Health and are certified to IEC 60825-1:2014 standards.

It is the end user's responsibility to ensure that no significant light is retroreflected back into QTekLaser systems as this can degrade performance and potentially damage the lasers. To prevent this, the use of an external optical isolator is strongly recommended.  Damage due to retroreflected light is not covered under warranty.

Quantum Applications

The 1590 nm single-frequency fiber laser provides 10 W of low-noise, polarization-maintaining light for quantum sensing, atomic interferometry, and laser cooling and trapping. It is a convenient fundamental for frequency doubling or sum-frequency mixing to reach visible and near-IR target lines with fiber-laser reliability.
